Went for breakfast on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy, you can get anything on the menu even in the morning. They give you chips and 3 kinds of salsa, some of it was not for the faint of heart if you know what I mean. I ordered 2 shredded chicken taquitos which came with beans and rice, and I got an extra shrimp soft taco which was an excellent choice. The taquitos were crisp on the outside and the chicken on the inside was juicy and tasted amazing. The shrimp taco was excellent, they do not skimp on the shrimp, I'm so glad I ordered it, I might go with just shrimp tacos next time, that's how good it was. The rice and beans were just as good as you would hope also. The service was excellent, they get lots of regulars in here and you could tell the staff knew most of the customers by name. Everyone was very friendly, just what you would expect from a restaurant that has been in the family for generations. Can't wait to go back!

This place was so yummy. I had their albondigas soup. It was so tasty and a burrito which was yummy as well. The service here was very good even though I was take out. We'll be coming back

I love Ricardo's Place.  It's a great neighborhood family owned restaurant that is good for groups and very kid friendly.    I haven't really had very many different menu items since I can't really bring myself to order anything else but a crunchy beef taco and chicken enchilada.  I know it's a very "white girl" order but they are not your typical taco and enchilada. The taco is overstuffed with tender juicy shredded beef and Mexican queso fresco, then fried after it's filled. just like in mexico (and Javier's for twice the price).  The enchilada sauce is perfectly seasoned and not overused.  The beans and rice are authentic and the margaritas are wonderful.  It's not haut cusine but it's so great for what it is, a old school Mexican restaurant like your mom and dad used to take you too.

I have been here before except wasn't an Elite yet but this place has authentic quality of Mexican food and definitely worth every penny!! This place's recipes has been around from generations to generations and I have to say the taste of the food can speak for itself. I have to definitely recommend people to come to this restaurant whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!! My fiancé loves the Chile rellenos here which is served with rice and beans and I ordered the carne Asada with half camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp) and half camarones al Diablo ( deviled spicy shrimp) also served with rice beans, grilled onions and bell peppers, and guacamole. All so amazing to drink I had a strawberry mojito which really got my night going. For dessert, we ordered helado frito which is fried ice cream which we enjoyed as it wasn't too sweet but just right. It's a must try. Let me know your experience on how you enjoyed this restaurant!!

This is one of the best Mexican places I have been to in a very long time. I used to come to this restaurant when I lived in Dana Point. Now that I have moved further away I still make the drive at least 2 times a month to come down to Ricaro's it is that good!!! I highly recommend their guacamole and margaritas!!!

Ricardo's Place has an overall homey feeling. The staff all treat each other like family. I really appreciated that. For appetizer we ordered what turned out to be a giant plate of nachos with melted cheese all over. For my entree, I ordered the half Chile verde/chili Colorado. I preferred the Chile Colorado over the verde. I would definitely return here for that dish. We also both ordered the Mexican hot chocolate, but one order would have even enough for the both of us. It came with a coffee cup full of hot chocolate with another little pitcher full as well.

Visited Ricardo's with a couple of dear friends of mine, and had a great time. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was warm and friendly (including the owner), the service was excellent and the food was first rate! Great family owned restaurant!
