my daughter is Autistic and being apart of Seastar Aquatics gives her the chance to build on her social skills development as well as learn what it is like to work as a team. She loves the coaches and looks forward to practices and meets.

My experience has been AWESOME!! My child and I have been part of SeaStars for 2 yaers. The coaches are GREAT! They provide so much guidance and support to the swimmers regardless of age, color or ability. I would recommend everyone to look into enrolling their child(ren) into SeaStars. The program offers a fun and challenging swim environment. Plus, what other group allows their swimmers to be part of a "give back" community in a variety of ways where they (swimmers) are never bored?

Robin was beyond any expectations I had starting my 4 year old autistic son in swim lessons. Not only did she teach him so much in four sessions, I learned a lot right along with him and she was so professional and patient. I was hesitant about how Micah would do in swim lessons but he won't stay out of the water so he has to learn. She also worked with my 5 year old son and he made major improvements as well. So it was amazing to see someone on the autism spectrum and someone not do so well in the little time they spent together. If you are considering lessons, I would highly recommend this to any friends or family. I believe every child near water should learn how to swim, but it takes someone amazing to be able to teach someone that is non-verbal and sometimes not very cooperative. Thank you Robin for you patience and awesome work you did with both my boys. Thank you for being so dedicated and good at what you do and teaching me so much as well.

I was so nervous at first given my autistic son's obsession with water, his impulsivity and complete lack of fear. I had no idea what to expect, and the idea of letting him go in the water without me and without water wings was unthinkable. All reasons he needs these lessons! His instructor Robin is AMAZING! She instinctively knows how to get him to perform without making it seem too much like work. She very patiently keeps him on task, working miracles with motivation! I can't recommend SEASTARS enough! I only wish there were more centers, as we are on the complete opposite end of town.

Finally, a place where my kids feel comfortable to be themselves! The coaches are completely dedicated, and it shows. For the first time ever, neither of my kids have complained about their extracurricular activity! :-)

We were kind of cautious at first but after observing my son at work with Robin, my confidence grew. She really knows how to handle kids with special needs.
