This is for the seafood store side. This is where I go for seafood, shrimp ( the very best!) salmon  great and I watch for quality swordfish when it come in and other seafood. I wish they would make Manhattan style chowder more often!!What I really like is the staff behind the counter - they are always pleasant and when I say I need "this" much, I sometime get invited behind the counter and point how much I want or we guess  how close I get to a @ 1 pound. I just like coming here and I like they way they make me feel like a customer. One time I came to get swordfish and they did nt have any in the case, the manager said her had some center cut for the restaurant side- he offerred me from that stock.I miss ordering a fish sandwich to go from the old store before the fire - but I do like the coconut shrimp already made and ready to re-heat .My wife recently had lunch there and  enjoyed it for lunch - will need to  head back that way with her soon!

Always excellent and ultra fresh seafood, well prepared, and presented.Add in efficient and friendly service as well as an inviting atmosphere- just can't be better!I'm partial to the swordfish tacos, friend shrimp, captains roll- but it is all good!Lunch on the patio is lovely too.

Amazing place - everything at the market looked delicious - we had the fried clam strips and the fried fish baskets with old bay fries - the portions were large - we started with the mixed chowder, RI and NE styles, which was interesting and very flavorful - I'm sure both of the chowders alone were delicious too - another thing to note is that you can pick something out at the market and they'll cook it up for you at the restaurant which is a pretty cool option - we'll be coming back here for sure

This place is very good and considering I'm from a beach city in California, I have higher standards. Let me start off saying that the customer service here is great. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. The corn bread and sourdough bread with butter were to die for. Yum!We ordered the appetizer: scallops with spaghetti squash. FYI only two scallops come in this dish so I was slightly disappointed but the price was ok. They were tender and quite good, not overly seasoned but I do appreciate a pop of flavor and the spaghetti squash could have used a little help in that department. We then ordered the lobster roll. It was super basic which really accentuated the lobster meat. We added lemon and melted butter to help this out and was quite delicious. The truffle fries with cheese were super delish. We shared the lobster bisque which was very delicious. I'd order this again in a heart beat. We then got the daily special (wine, soup, main dish and dessert which was an awesome deal). We ordered a very nice Malbec- I know, I should have gotten the white wine with seafood but I'm glad I broke the rules. - With this special I got the clam chowder without the cream. It was nice and light which is what I wanted. I then got the stuffed shrimp dish: two big prawns with a tasty bread mix on top. This was a fantastic pop of flavor I was hoping for. The shrimp came with potatoes and perfectly steamed brócoli which was a nice balance. It came with the brownie sundae which was surprisingly delicious. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would come again.

We have been going to Close Harbour Seafood for many years for the seafood market.  I will preface this review by saying that if you are looking for cheap seafood this is NOT the place to go.  However, if you are looking for the freshest of the fresh, creme de la creme seafood in the area Close Harbour is by far the best.  I cannot say enough about the quality of Close Harbour Seafood.  The Close family takes great pride in their business and is committed to excellence.  We have purchased salmon, all types of white fish (tilapia, halibut, cod, flounder, etc.), tuna, and shellfish and have always been incredibly satisfied with our purchase.  The cocktail shrimp in particular are a standout.  In addition their takeout items such as any of the seafood cakes, coconut shrimp (I SALIVATE at the thought), etc. are divine and worth the purchase. The restaurant itself is a great place to treat yourself or celebrate a special occasion as it does run on the slightly pricier side.  I have recently had the opportunity to have both lunch and dinner at Close Harbor.  The staff and bartenders were incredibly attentive and friendly and the restaurant was well kept and exceptionally clean.  For lunch my guest and I had the Captain's Roll, which is a blend of fresh lobster and fresh jumbo lump crab.  The roll was perfectly buttered and the seafood itself was so tender and fresh with just the right amount of seasoning to accentuate the quality of the seafood.  The onion rings were fresh from the fryer and were exceptionally crisp, albeit a tad greasy.  It was an ample, filling portion for $22 (market price of the time for fresh lobster and crab plus a side).  For dinner I decided to go light and try a couple of appetizers - the seared scallops with a cauliflower puree and the seafood sausage raviolis.  The scallops and cauliflower puree were a little cold, but the scallops were sweet and seared without being rubbery or conversely dry in texture.  The seafood sausage raviolis were light and fresh tasting and paired perfectly with the sauteed spinach.  My guest had the captain's roll for dinner with the Old Bay fries.  The Old Bay fries were so good, but warning decently salty as it is (duh) Old Bay seasoning.  Close Harbour restaurant does offer a diverse offering of wines by the glass or bottle, draft beer, and cocktails.  If you have several members of your party interested in wine splitting a bottle is probably the best deal. The quality and selection at Close Harbour Seafood cannot be beat whether you shop at the fish market or the restaurant and I would certainly recommend both if you are looking to cook or enjoy a special meal.  I hope to hit up their happy hour at some point soon and we will definitely be back at the fish market for our next seafood centered meal.
