  • VO I and VO II are an incredible value. I am astonished by how much I learned, the scope of the training, and the insights into the industry. Voice over work is an exciting, rapidly-changing field with tremendous potential for creative and vocational growth. It’s been great to study with someone so experienced, knowledgeable, fun, and encouraging. If you’re curious about VO work—do it!

I thought the content could have been more focused but I understand it is an "intro" class. I was hoping for more mic time and general coaching so we would actually get to work on technique for each type of vo. The manual is invaluable and a great takeaway!

  • The training prepared me in several ways. (1) It helped me find what line of work that would best suit me, (Advertisement, Gaming, etc). (2) It taught me vocal lessons and manipulations I can use to alternate my voice into other characters. (3) It explains the business of Voice Acting and how one should prepare for a job application. (4) Teaching us the basic form and vocabulary of editing. (5) Giving recommendations on how to build a home studio.

I loved my experience at the Seattle Voice Institute. The instructors were engaging, the lessons were fun, and the skills and information I acquired in just the first voice over class were well worth the cost. If you're even only slightly interested in this class, then I recommend you go for it! It is a lot of fun! Who knows? Maybe it could even turn into a career!

The course was great for me in a couple ways: 1. As an introduction to voice acting, the course was perfect for beginners. The instructors were open to answering all questions, no matter how basic. 2. The schedule was outside my work hours and made attending easier. 3. Instructors were knowledgeable and experienced voice actors. Presentations were interesting and utilized different examples, resources, and advice. 4. Lessons included many opportunities for voice recording without judgement.

Taking a concept I'm already familiar with and applying it to voice was incredibly beneficial and gave me the extra added boast of feeling confident in voice over. I definitely would recommend them to students looking for voice over training!

Both the one-day class and six-week course I took provided me with useful tools for potential voice-over work, as well as strengthening the acting skills I had. I found the attention paid to the business side of VO especially valuable. As well, I loved the small class size and the feedback given to each individual student. I wish there was more time to play around in the studio, but I totally understand that limitation! I totally look forward to attending more classes in the future.
