Samara is an amazing instructor, very personable, filled with knowledge and willing to share. The class had many bits of info for beginning into the world of VO, best suited to see if voice work is something you'd want to do. Hard to think of anything to improve on at this point other than wanting a bit more studio time, but it's tough to fit in that time with such a fast paced class. I would highly recommend this class!

(Took two day Intro to voice over) Good teacher. Knowledgable. Personable. Honest. Was able to share a number of ways for each of us to improve our acting. We needed to loosen up more, and she helped with that though we needed to loosen up even more! Price seemed reasonable for the amount of content. Was interesting listening to others. Reading 'cold' was interesting though I would have appreciated a bit more time with my copy to get to know it. Cons: The chairs got a little uncomfortable by the end of the day.

The two day workshop is a flexible distillation of the 6 week program. We covered so much technique, style and industry knowledge in two days. I will be processing all of this info for a while. This program is incredibly helpful for anyone who has an idea about voice acting, has taken a workshop before or a trained actor. You receive real time feedback and useful tools to take home and try.

I would recommend anyone to take the VoiceOver Toolbox course at the Seattle Voice Institute. Its a great way to start if you are interested in VoiceOver or if you need a refresher to get you back on track to start recording again.

We are so lucky to have a resource like SVI here in Seattle. Regardless of any other private or online learning you do for VO, getting together with local VO artists at all stages of their career and deepening your craft and business chops under the guidance of excellent teachers is priceless.

I love working with Shana. She is so encouraging and positive, as well as extremely knowledgeable on vocal techniques and health. I always leave her lessons in a good mood ready to tackle more.
