  • The boat was in a good location in Marigot (Fort St. Louis Marina) and was reasonable well prepared. The DYC office was remote from the marina and that added time to preparation.

  • Had the best time island hopping in the Bahamas with my friends! Highly recommend Dream Yacht Charters, they were very helpful throughout the entire process. Wyvis, our captain, has set the bar high - I may not be able to travel by boat without him!

  • Their boats are very modern & awesome. We learned to sail several years ago w a different company. At ports we saw and toured many of their boats. We even thought about buying one of them.... Next time we charter they will have our business.

  • WARNING! DO NOT BOOK A CRUISE WITH CAPTAIN ROSS LYSINGER OF ACTIVE CRUISING CHARTER & YACHT! We booked a catamaran trip to the BVI's in March with Ross Lysinger. We all paid the deposit and then the balance as requested by Ross. When we arrived to Tortola to board the boat we were informed that Ross had missed his flight and wouldn't be arriving until the following day. When we went to get the keys to our boat we were told that Ross never paid the balance on the trip and that if we wanted to still go on the trip we had to pay the $7,500 that Ross had stolen. Our host paid the money with the understanding from Ross that he would make payments to pay him back. He made one payment and we have not heard from him since. We have since found out that we are not the only ones that he has stolen from. Ross Lysinger is a crook.

  • I've used DYC three times in 2018 in Antiqua, BVI, and the Abacos. I was captain, and had a good experience on each yacht chartered. If there was a mechanical issue, they were successful in taking care of it to my satisfaction. I've already booked my next charter with them for 2019. Easy to work with each base.

Merci!

Just a short review of our trip to Exumas …. “BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE” - That was my wife’s line after 8 day 7 night trip “By The Cabin” from Palm Cay to Exumas and back. My wife and I have travelled all over the world, so for her to say something like is a huge compliment. We were quite lucky in many ways on this trip. First of all we were upgraded from 57 foot catamaran to 62 foot Lagoon catamaran - huge boat 62 feet long and 33 feet wide with 6 cabins for guests. We only had 5 cabins occupied and there were only 9 guests on board this time. The DYC company actually had to bring this boat from their other base in Marsh Harbor in Abacos. This 2 million dollar cat is beautiful and a comfortable boat with more than enough room for everybody to find their own space. Cabins are large and very comfortable with everything you need including AC. We were also lucky that the boat came with our great captain Alex from Rio de Janeiro and lovely Bahamian chef Tia. Next we only had 10 minute rain shower all week long and then we had sunny days all the rest of our time. We had pretty amazing calm weather being in the middle of hurricane season. One was in the Atlantic at this time but went north of us. We also had great mix of people on the boat – a honeymoon couple from Great Britain Guy and Kathryn, young couple from Rome, Italy, a couple celebrating their 5 year wedding anniversary from Maryland - Aubrie and Reid, our friend Kathy from Stuart Florida and last but not least me (Stan the man) and my wife Suzanne celebrating her birthday at the end of this trip. We had a great trip to Nassau on Southwest Air from FLL (great price and 2 free pieces of the luggage). I recommend Southwest air to everybody. After a quick ride (prior arranged) to Palm Cay marina our vacation started great with a warm & friendly welcome by the Palm Cay base managers. Since we arrived early we had to go to explore the Palm cay resort- marina, beach, pool and, last but not least, the pool bar. Everything looked beautiful and we all drank too much by the pool admiring the ocean views. Then it was time at 6 pm to embark on our catamaran and meet everyone. We were greeted by “Alex”, the captain, and “Tia”, the great chef, serving us great Bahama Mama cocktails for everyone. After everybody was assigned to their cabins, we got to experience professional and entertaining safety lecture by Alex. That was just the beginning of Alex’s continuous string of funny jokes and stories in his Brazilian accent thru out our trip. We could not have asked for a better captain -always in total command. The water around the Exumas is pretty shallow, so the captain had to have great seaman’s knowledge at all times to make sure we were safe. And we were. We were also greeted by Tia’s appetizers including conch fritters and much more - and the food never stopped flowing thru out the entire trip out of Tia’s kitchen. I was wondering all the time where she was hiding all the food for all of us for 8 days. Just to get you jealous, this was our daily schedule – first class breakfast (including eggs Benedict with homemade bernaise sauce) and always a huge plate of fruit. Then it was followed by snacks before lunch and obviously then a full sit-down great lunch with wine. More tasty snacks before dinner and Tropical drinks. Every night we had a first class dinner with nice wines and dessert. This routine was what repeated every day! The food was spectacular - five star and nobody sent anything back to the kitchen – actually some had seconds. Tia is amazing chef who could cook in the best restaurants in US and a very hard worker who hardly ever sat down. I even bought fresh conch from the local Bahamian fishermen after Tia negotiated the deal, and made incredible fresh conch salad. Again that was another highlight of our trip. And obviously in between the meals, we went on our excursions. So now I should tell you something about the trip itinerary. We started in gorgeous Highborne Cay in Nothern Exumas for overnight and kept going south. The Thunderball grotto at Staniel Cay was very nice and so were the swimming pigs on the beach. We stopped at the famous Compass Cay on the way back to have lunch and go swimming and petting the nurse sharks. It was a great experience. I even got to do some deep sea fishing on the deep east side and got couple of blackfin tunas and a mutton snapper during night fishing ( again Tia’s knowledge how to prepare fish was delightful). The night anchorages in beautiful Exuma coves were just amazing. Eating dinners on the rear deck under the stars cannot be duplicated. A few nice drinks after the dinner helped greatly to enjoy this ambience. The blue turquoise waters of the Exumas were soothing for everybody’s sole. So after all of these activities going on all week, nobody wanted to go back to Palm Cay marina and we were actually contemplating highjacking the boat and go back to explore more of Exumas. We all agreed that one week was not enough. We arrived back to Palm Cay late in evening. Again the captain got us thru shallow channels without a glitch. Everybody went to take hot showers and get dressed up for the last gala dinner. Tia baked beautiful cake for my wife’s birthday and decorated the dining area with balloons and birthday signs. Again Tia put on great show. Everybody was well dressed, looking great for the last show. We sang happy birthday for my wife and celebrated the 5th wedding anniversary of Aubrie and Reid. The newlyweds were enjoying themselves as well. We had the best time and the next day’s breakfast was last hurah before taking our group picture and Alex directing us of his boat in other words-“get off my boat next group is coming and I have lots of work to do “ ( haha just kidding he enjoyed our company and we enjoyed his as well and we will keep in touch). My wife and I are planning the next trip already and we want to make it at least for two weeks. It is my understanding that our group wants to try to organize repeat trip with the same crew. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to the Dream Yacht Charters company who gave us best trip of our lives. I personally would like to thank Michelle Carelis from the office for her patience answering all my pre trip questions, and there were quite a few of them. I wanted to make sure my wife had the best time so she would want to go on these trips all the time in the future. These charter trips to the Exumas are brand new on DYC program list, so there is not too much feedback so far. We definitively hope these charters will stay on the list of charters and maybe they could get even longer. That is all for my short review now. You can contact me if you may have any more questions about our experience. We will try to upload some pictures from this trip as well.

You can only tell the whole island was nearly destroyed by the fact that they had to move the office because the new one from two years ago was completely gone. These people are absolute rock stars and work hard for their customers.

  • We just returned from a week in the Exumas with Captain Alex and hostess Tia. They made our experience incredible! They were very conscientious and made every single person on the boat feel welcomed and special. The food was incredibly delicious using lots of fresh ingredients. Tia is a wonderful cook! Captain Alex took the best care of us and made sure we stayed safe on our day to day excursions to the islands. The room on the boat is incredibly spacious and not cramped. We had all the amenities that we could ever want! I would highly recommend booking a trip with dream yacht charters on the 620 lagoon!
